June 4 - 6, 1999 ... Web site improvements... (1) "Buy Now" button reworded "Try Or Buy" This button now links to the Try/Buy/Download Options page instead of direct to the Download Store. This provides quick access (from every page) to all Try/Buy options... (2) "Purchase/Download Options" page renamed "Try/Buy/Download Options" (more descriptive of actual contents)... (3) Graphics Improved: Improved the appearance of several images... (4) Download Times reduced: Reduced the size of several existing images and eliminated a few unnecessary images.

May 25, 1999 ... Web site improvements... (1) Added a new Softwrights Products - Price Chart page that lets you see all prices in one place without having to go to the order/download pages. A link to this chart appears in the Miscellaneous Stuff section of Softwrights Home Page... (2) Added prices to each product detail menu page... (3) Added a link to the Quotes from Users, Reviewers & Media page in the Miscellaneous Stuff section of Home Page... (4) To decrease size and download time for Home Page, eliminated 2 graphical images (Softwrights Mailbox & Spider Making Web) from the Miscellaneous Stuff section of Home Page, changed News image from an animation to static graphic, and eliminated 1 frame from Download Now &Stop Using Start to Stop animations.

April 12, 1999 ... Added a new Mail Order Form option to the Try/Buy/Download Options page on this Web site.

November, 1998 ... A new low-cost time-saving utility that is useful for all Windows 95, 98, or NT users... Stay tuned for more information.

August 22, 1998... NEWLY AVAILABLE ... Retail versions of Softwrights Reminder in our download stores ... Previously, only free-trial demo versions were available.

August 20, 1998 ... Version 2.5 of Softwrights Reminder (Multimedia & Lite Editions) has been released ... The biggest change is a new Setup program that automatically detects if you're running Windows 95/98/NT or Windows 3.1, then automatically performs a Windows-version specific installation (i.e. Registry entries for Win 95/98/NT, creation of Group for Win 3.1, etc.) ... The previous, much more compact, but more limited setup program performed a Windows 3.1 type of DDE installation only. The setup program also gives you the option of starting the program right away, autostarting each time computer starts ... and optional placement of shortcuts on the Win 95/98/NT desktop, top of start menu, or directly on the Programs menu.

The new setup program also installs a compact uninstall program that takes up 81K of disk space... The previous setup program did not install an uninstall program.

Softwrights Reminder is essentially the same with a few edits/additions to the Help and NerdInfo menus.

Even with these changes both editions of the program are still extremely compact ... Thanks to Softwrights efficient design/programming.

Free-Trial Demo versions are available now, from this Web site ... Retail versions available soon.

August 10, 1997 ... Two brand-new editions of Softwrights Reminder have been released... A Multimedia Edition and a Lite Edition. The changes are substantial, hence we're calling both of these products Version 2.0. Both versions retain the ease-of-use of the old version. Both were also designed to be as fast and compact as possible.

Some of you wanted us to add graphics and/or sounds... That's why we made the Multimedia Edition that displays a graphic on the day of a scheduled event (39 different graphics) and plays sounds for various types of events, alarms, etc. (26 sounds available to choose from) ... For those who want custom sounds, 6 .WAV file sounds can be edited/replaced.

Others wanted to keep the program as small as possible... That's why we made the Lite Edition which has all the same fundamental features without the graphics and sounds.

Here are some of the new features in both editions:

Changed screen colors so important information "sticks out" more. Medium gray is used for the background of the Events-List (main screen).

Main window size changed to just fit the Events-List instead of filling (maximizing) the whole screen.

An Alarm option for non-holiday events that lets you set an alarm for an event. A dialog box appears with details about the event along with an optional continuous or single sound (several sounds available in Multimedia Edition) that plays until you shut it off. The alarm time appears on a new column of the Events List.

A Run in Background option that lets you work on other programs while Reminder waits until you bring it back to the foreground yourself, or until an optional time you specify (automatically comes to foreground).

A Startup Group installation option that lets you automatically run Reminder whenever you start (boot) your computer.

A current-time display that is updated every second. If the date changes, the events list is automatically updated (including removing expired events and changing the status line and graphics).

An Event List Window Size Options option-menu command that lets you see 5, 7, or 10 events at once on the Events List.

A Sound Options option-menu command that lets you choose sounds for 6 different events, alarms, etc.

A Select (Check) All and Un-Check All button to let you quickly select or delete all 28 holidays at once.

A Save Event and Add Another command button that lets you save several events in a row without having to go back and forth from the Events List screen. An Events-Saved Counter shows you how many events you've saved so far.

A Remove (uninstall) Softwrights Reminder help-menu command that shows you have to remove the program.

A Sound Options - Built-in and Using Your Own help-menu command that shows you how to select built-in sounds and customize other sounds.

June 17, 1997...

Adding most of the requested new features gathered from users of current free-trial demo of Softwrights Reminder (and a few Softwrights' additions) ... In a manner that maintains the practicality, efficiency, and ease-of-use of the current version.

Correct any bugs (if any discovered in the free-trial demo) in Softwrights Reminder. Then prepare/test update and make full retail versions available for purchase from our download store partners.

Designing next program (out in 2-3 months).
Planning two future programs for release later this year.

Writing a large reference/training manual for an enterprise-wide system that will be used by a major U.S. manufacturer (includes Production Control, Material Requirements Planning, Inventory, Purchasing, etc.)

Added this What's New page. Added download links to the top of the download pages for Softwrights Reminder and You'll Soon Be Typing (in addition to the bottom links) for people who don't need/want to read the instructions for downloading.
